The book is emphasizing on the final judgment that will come upon men on earth. It is the Great White Throne Judgment. It is great because everyone will appear before God in the great congregation. It will be awful and terrible because it will be at the very presence of the Almighty God, who will sit on his throne in majesty, splendor and absolute holiness. It will mark the end of all rebellion against God. It will be a very great congregation. Both the small and the great, the high and the mighty, the educated and the illiterate, the rich and the poor, the religious and the irreligious, the leaders and the led will all be present at this dreadful occasion. There will be no hiding place and nothing will be hidden before all men.

It states clearly that the basis of this inescapable and irreversible judgment will be according to the deeds, which have been carefully recorded down against your name in the books of record. All actions, thoughts and speeches recorded against you, right from the
age of accountability will be exposed on that day.

The book went back into the Old Testament era to show earlier prophetic pronouncement concerning God’s true and righteous judgment and the reasons for it. It went further to show the period, the place and the participants at the Great White Throne Judgment and the incomparable consequences of this judgment which is final casting away into the lake that will be burning with fire and brimstone forever and ever.

It is therefore, pointing men to the irreversible dangers of this final judgment and showing the heavenly approved way of escape from this impending judgment. It also shows the readers the riches and bliss which God has reserved for all those who will eventually escape the Great White Throne Judgment in the new earth and the new heaven.
