Your Best is Yet To Come

Key Verse: Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours. Gen 37:3.

Joseph at this time was just 17 years old and he we was beloved of his father because he never indulged in the evil practices his brothers were involved in. This brought the anger of his brothers upon him and they hated him and could not speak peaceably unto him. His brothers did not stop at mere anger and hatred. They decided to exterminate him. Hear them: Behold the dreamer cometh. Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams. Gen 37:19-20. They eventually sold him into slavery thinking that they have finished. Alas! they were totally wrong because that action only became the spring board to his reaching stardom, excellence and God’s appointed purpose for his life. They thought he was finished not knowing he was just beginning the journey to prominence. He has not reached his best yet. His best was yet to come. They only provided him a speedy route to success and achievement in line with God’s purpose for his life.

His brothers tore coat of many colours made by Jacob for him thinking he will remain naked and destitute all life. But they never knew that his best is yet to come. Can you join me to see Joseph ascending to the top with a better clothing than the coat of many colours. And Phaorah said unto Joseph, see, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. And Phaorah took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. Gen 41:41-43. God used Pharoah to re-cloth Joseph in vestures of fine linen including a golden ring and chain round his neck. This his new clothing was by far better, greater, more gorgeous and costly than the mere coat of many colours. The coat of many colours only gave him beauty without power and authority. It never resulted in any promotion to his life. He was still the father’s errand boy traversing the bush keeping and running after animals. His later clothing had power and authority. The golden ring of authority to make decrees, to bind and lose without anybody questioning his authority. His new clothing brought a change in position. From a pauper in the prison to a prince. Even Potiphar also bowed the knee for Joseph. The servant became the master while the master became the servant.  What an exchange. Joseph eventually ascended to the top and his today became better than his yesterday. He came to his best. Your best is coming in Jesus Name. I will hear of it and will rejoice with you. Do not loose hope, rather keep faith. Best things will soon unfold for you in Jesus Name.
